Welcome to Yoga in Boston

Hello everyone! I am excited to announce the launch of Yoga In Boston!

Boston is home to an incredible amount of compassionate and knowledgeable teachers and a wide variety of classes that make yoga accessible to everyone. Here in Boston, there is a diverse and interesting mix of loyal practitioners, that share a common love and appreciation for how yoga enriches their lives.

This is a space where the vast and loving yoga community in Boston will be well represented. A place for students, teachers, studio owners, aspiring yogis, and anyone interested in the topic of yoga to discover additional resources and learn more about what this city has to offer, a place to expand and connect the community, so we can share the benefits of yoga and our personal experiences with each other.

I will cover a spectrum of topics, ranging from what I experience in this yoga community, the things I learn, the people I meet, and whatever else inspires me.

About me:

I was home during a college spring break, 17 years ago, when my mom asked me to join her for a yoga class.  The class was taught in the attic of the teacher's home to the backdrop of Vivaldi's Four Seasons. I immediately fell in love with the movement and grace of the vinyasa class and continued practicing since then and at many different studios throughout the next 10 years. I've learned a lot since that first class and practiced at many studios, finally landing at Inner Strength Studios in Watertown. Here I have connected deeply with the ideology and style of yoga offered by the owner Roman Szpond. It combines a mentally and physically challenging style of Ashtanga offered by compassionate and knowledgeable teachers, all experienced amidst an amazing and supportive community of students. The style of yoga taught here really resonates with me and provides me what I need to stay well nourished mentally and physically. In 2013, I received my 200 hr. teacher training certification at Inner Strength and teach at both the Watertown and Sudbury locations.

In the last few years I have traveled quite a bit and experienced yoga in other places, I have come to appreciate Boston as a special place for yoga, a rich community full of  skilled teachers, dedicated yogis, and many wonderful studios and opportunities to learn more about ourselves and our practice.

I hope this space will help strengthen our yoga community and offer a place to learn, to share, and bring more people together and to discuss this gift of yoga.

Thanks and Namaste,

Joanna
